Filmed simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages, it stars Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, marking the former's Hindi debut and the latter's debut in South Indian cinema. The film also has Jackie Shroff, Arun Vijay and Neil Nitin Mukesh in other prominent roles. The film follows an undercover agent and his partner as they go after a thief who has stolen ?2,000 crore (US$270 million). Soon, they realise that the case is linked to the death of a crime lord and an emerging gang war. Principal photography for Saaho began in August 2017. Filming took place in India, United Arab Emirates, Romania and Austria. Produced on a budget of ?350 crore (US$46 million), it is one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced. The film's soundtrack was released under the banner T-Series. Saaho was released in India in theatres and IMAX on 30 August 2019. The movie received generally unfavorable reviews from Hindi critics and mixed reviews from Telugu and Tamil critics, who criticized the screenplay, music, length, direction and dubbing, though Prabhas's performance, visual effects, cinematography and action sequences received praise.
